Nurse's Aide Indicted on Burglary Charge at Fellowship Village
Hillside woman accused of taking $100 from resident's room.
A Somerset County grand jury has indicted a Hillside woman on a third-degree burglary charge for allegedly going into a resident's room at Fellowship Village and stealing his $100.
Carline Chery, 46, of Hillside, was indicted on Wednesday, according to papers filed in the Criminal Division of Superior Court.
According to an affidavit filed in court, township police went to Fellowship Village at about 9:30 a.m. from an 80-year-old resident's wallet in his room.
The resident told police that when he was returning to his room from breakfast he saw an unknown woman quickly leaving his room, the affidavit said.
Fellowship Village officials identified the woman as Chery, the affidavit said, who then was employed as a nurse's aide.
Chery failed to come to work for four days after the incident. Police then went to Chery's home to question her, the affidavit said.
Chery admitted to taking the money and told police that she entered the victim's room only to take the take the money, according to the affidavit.

Chery was charged with burglary because she was not caring for the victim and and had no reason to be in the room.
The incident was investigated by Bernards Township Detective Timothy King.
