Traffic stops result in arrests.

A 28-year-old Short Hills man was arrested earlier this month after police found him with heroin, according to a report from the Bernards Township Police Department.

On Aug. 6 at 5:30 pm, Bernards Township Sgt. Scott Ward approached a 1992 Lexus parked at the end of a residential driveway on Somerville Road, according to the report. When Ward reached the vehicle he observed the driver hide something between the driver's seat and door, police said. Ward also reportedly noticed a syringe cap on the center console.

Police said the sergeant also observed included that the driver was shaking, sweating and had dried blood on his hands. Ward questioned the driver, Jonathan Kelly, a 28-yeard old male from Short Hills. Kelly admitted that there was a syringe containing heroin behind the driver's seat and additional heroin packets in the vehicle, police said.
