UPDATE: Emergency Responders at Scene For Hours Cleaning up Truck Fire

Disabled truck took three hours to clear; no injuries, state police say.

State police from Somerville said that fire companies and first aid squads were on Interstate 78 westbound near exit 33 in Basking Ridge for at least three hours on Wednesday night, clearing a disabled tractor trailer that had caught fire on the highway.

The fire, which apparently started in the cab of the truck, was reported at about 5 p.m., state police said. No injuries were reported, state police said.

The fire companies and squads that responded included Liberty Corner, Basking Ridge, Bernardsville and other emergency responders, according to reports. State police said one lane of traffic was blocked before the cleanup was completed at about 8 p.m.
