Lyons Road Reopened After Van Crash Into Utility Pole

Detour from Monday morning accident removed as of shortly after 1:30 p.m., police said.

A Somerset Hills Florist van heading north on Lyons Road just south of the Lyons Mall crashed into a utility pole at about 9:30 a.m. that resulted in one block of the road being closed off for hours. However, Bernards Township police said shortly after 1:30 p.m. that Lyons Road had been reopened.

The one-vehicle accident occurred just before 9:30 a.m, and reportedly resulted in power being cut off to one home, according to township police.

Police said the van was driven by a woman who reportedly told police that she was drowsy at the time of the crash.
