Fulfilling one of Mayor Scott Spitzer's goals for 2010, the Township Committee voted on Tuesday to create a Bernards Beautification Task Force.

The mission of the task force, as stated in the resolution passed by the Township Committee, is to "improve public awareness and civic pride, promote involvement and coordination of services in the pursuit of further beautification of the scenic and historic community of Bernards Township and to enhance the qualify of life and property values for all residents. "

The committee discussed implementation of the task force in previous meetings, settling on the version adopted last night, which will work in conjunction with the Green Team, Shade Tree Commission, Parks, Recreation and Pathways Committee, Community Services and the Department of Public Works.
