Bville Electronics Recyling on Sat. Open Also to Basking Ridge

Bernardsville Borough and Green Team will collect and recycle computers, TVs and other electronics this Saturday.

The pileup of old computer components, televisions and other electronics wastes may be some of the hardest garbage to get rid cheaply and in an environmentally responsible manner.

However, this Saturday, Bernardsville Borough and the borough's Green Team will be host a free annual electronics recycling event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bernards High School at 25 Olcott Avenue in Bernardsville.

And the good news is that residents and businesses in the communities surrounding Bernardsville, including Bernards Township, can participate in the event.

The collection will feature drive-thru service and off-loading of items from participants' car, making recycling old computers, printers and other electronic waste as easy as possible.

The recycling of the "e-waste" will be handled by Newtech Recycling Inc. in Somerset. They are a New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection-approved processor of obsolete electronics and committed to a zero-landfill policy.
