Independent candidates have until 4 p.m. June 4 to file nominating petitions to be on the November ballot.

Registration forms can be found in various places, including the township clerk's office at 1 Collyer Lane, the Bernards Township, the Division of Motor Vehicles and elsewhere, said Township Clerk Denise Szabo.

The forms must be mailed with an original signature, not faxed, and must be received by the deadline date by the county clerk. Because the deadline is Tuesday, citizens who want to insure their application is received by the deadline might want to submit it in person in Somerville, Szabo suggested.

For further information on registering to vote, contact Rhonda Pisano at the municipal building at 1 Collyer Lane in Basking Ridge, at 908-204-3001 or at rpisano@bernads.org.
