Last School Board Meeting of Year This Week

Few other meetings coming up the week prior to Christmas and winter school holiday.

The year's last Bernards Board of Education meeting is scheduled for Monday night, with the annual reorganization meeting for the board now scheduled for Jan. 7.

Since the school board election was moved from April to November, the board's reorganization has been moved to January.

There will be little change in the lineup for the board, however, since three incumbents — Robin McKeon, Audrey Cohen Sherwyn and Beverly Cwerner — were re-elected to their seats.

At Monday's meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. at the William Annin Middle School, the board is expecting to hear an update on the progress of the new adult education school housed at Ridge High School, and also an update on the district's anti-bullying program.

The Parents of Exceptional Children group also is scheduled to make a donation to the school board on Monday.

On Tuesday this week, the Bernards Township Planning Board is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. at the municipal building at 1 Collyer Lane in Basking Ridge. Notable for the upcoming agenda is that neither the Millington Quarry nor a proposed mosque in Liberty Corner are on the agenda.

Also on Tuesday, the Bernards Township Library Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet at the 32 S. Maple Ave., Basking Ridge.
