Mayor Spitzer Will Seek Reelection to Township Committee

The mayor will seek the endorsement of the Bernards Township Municipal Committee in March.

In a press release yesterday, Bernards Township Mayor Scott Spitzer announced his intentions of seeking another three-year term on the Township Committee.

The mayor's current term expires at the end of the year – the only Township Committee seat that will be open for a vote in November.

Spitzer was first elected in 2007, and has previously served the township as chairman of the Planning Board and as a member of the Open Space Advisory Commission.

"I am seeking re-election to continue to serve our residents and keep Bernards Township the wonderful community we all enjoy," Spitzer said in an email. "I want to continue keep our taxes in check, avoid overdevelopment and enhance communication with our residents."

The first step for the mayor will be to seek the Bernards Township Municipal Committee's endorsement in early March, and, if granted, campaign for the Novemeber elections.
