Even though roughly 80 residents showed up to Tuesday's Township Council Meeting to oppose the Millington Quarry settlement that will allow more soil to be transported to the Stonehouse Road site, the deal was approved, according to newjerseyhills.com.
In defense of the settlement, Mayor John Carpenter said rejecting the deal could have led to a trial which in return, could potentially take away the townships control over the matter, according to newjerseyhills.com.
