Mother of Man Dead in 2011 Accident Files Negligence Suit

On behalf of her dead son, Nancy Ekberg is suing the estate of his best friend, the man driving the car in which both he and Thomas Ekberg died in 2011.

The mother of a man killed in a 2011 accident has filed a negligence lawsuit against the estate of his friend, the man driving the car in which he was a passenger, and the owner of a disabled truck the driver had crashed into.

Nancy Ekberg, who is administering the estate of her son, Thomas, filed papers in Somerset County Superior Court against the estate of Kevin Herron, according to a report at MyCentralJersey.com.  The mother also filed suit against Stacy Herron, the owner of the 1993 Infiniti her son Kevin was driving, and Rainbow Transportation, the owner of the dump truck into which Herron crashed on Nov. 28, 2011 on Route 287.

Both Herron and Ekberg were 2010 graduates of Ridge High School, and good friends. Both occupants had been pronounced dead at the scene, NJ State Police said at the time.
