Pill Hill Recycling/Dump Hours Extended Fri-Sun; No Punch Cards Needed

Township arranges to make it easier for residents to discard ruined items or brush from storm damage.

The Pill Hill Recycling Center and municipal dump will operate on extended hours, starting on Friday and continuing through this Sunday, in order to allow residents to discard brush and ruined items following last weekend's visit from Hurricane (then Tropical Storm) Irene.

No punch cards will need to be obtained to drop off items at the Pill Hill center during that time. The Pill Hill facility is located on Pill Hill Road, off Mount Airy Road.

Friday, September 2               7:30 a.m. through 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, September 3                      7:30 a.m. through 6:30 p.m.

Sunday, September 4             7:30 a.m. through 6:30 p.m.

 

Punch cards will not be required for this period of time with proof of residency (driver’s license or Bernards Township Punch card).  Residents may bring in unlimited brush for recycling. Commercial vehicles and vehicles larger than a pickup truck are not allowed.

The remained closed on Friday, although the Coakley-Russo Memorial Golf Course and township athletic fields were open again as of Wednesday.

The township municipal building and police department regained full power on Thursday, and were reopened for full operations as of Friday.

Also on Friday, the Somerset County remained closed following days without power.
