The Caldwells Gave More Money to Romney During Election Cycle

NJ Spotlight Interactive Map provides breakdown of campaign contributions throughout the state.

The Caldwells are represented on a NJ Spotlight Interactive Map in deep red, indicating that residents gave more money to Gov. Mitt Romney than President Barack Obama in the recent presidential election cycle.

Zip code 07006, which includes Caldwell, North Caldwell and West Caldwell, contributed $80,316 to Romney's campaign compared to $64,319 to Obama's campaign, according to the latest information available from the Federal Election Commission.

The map also shows how many more individuals, 614, made small donations to Obama, compared to a small number of contributors, 162, who made larger donations to Romney between March 1, 2011 and Nov. 26 2012.

The Essex County portion of the map is half-red, half-blue, reflecting which way towns swing not just with their dollars but with their votes. Western Essex traditionally leans Republican, while towns in the eastern part of the county lean Democratic.

Statewide, contributors favored the re-elected President Obama with their donations, giving him $1.3 million more than they gave his opponent.

The horse bothered you??? Do you really believe that war on women propaganda?? We are all heading to the stone ages because of the current President but people like you are so caught in non issues...I doubt you even care.

do you really want a Mormon president? as a Catholic i have little use for evangelical protestants. Especially wealthy ones that could give a crap about anyone but their own kind...you know the old expression; "they talk to each other and to God".

So Anthony, let me get this straight, you didn't vote for Romney because you are Catholic and he is Mormon? You would rather pass on a man who believes in God (as you claim to) and elect a man who has no faith....One that supports killing babies in late term pregnacy, without even needing a reason and giving our children free birth control....that makes more sense to you???? Really??? hmmmm....thats not what I got from the teachings of the Catholic Church.

just because i'm a catholic, doesn't mean i follow it. i should have said i was "born" a catholic. separation of church and state..remember the pilgrims? nine old men have no right to tell a woman what to do with her body.......i didn't vote in "08...same this year...for president, that is.

i saw nothing good in either candidate...one being elected because of what he is...another playing up to the religious right...i guess you could say i'm a moderate...stuck in the middle
