Two Republicans, One Democrat, File for Local Primary Race

There will be no contest on the ballot for party nominations in June primary elections.

The two Republicans already serving on the Committeeman John Malay and Deputy Mayor Carolyn Gaziano, will be unopposed in the June 5 primary election in seeking their party's nomination for two committee seats in November.

One Democrat, Michael Komondy, also filed before the 4 p.m. deadline on Monday to be included on the primary election ballot, said

Szabo said a second Democrat would be eligible to be included on the November ballot if he or she receives at least 14 write-in votes in the primary election.

Komondy made his first run last November for a position on the Township Committeeman. He was running mates with Bonnie Diehl, but both Democrats were defeated by Republicans Mary Pavlini and John Carpenter.

The two positions available on the Township Committee are for three-year terms.
