Basking Ridge Student One of Valedictorians at Vo-Tech HS

Ceremony will be held next Friday night.

One hundred forty eight students will receive their diplomas in eighteen different vocational programs ranging from Automotive Technology to the Performing Arts at the Somerset County Vocational and Technical High School. The ceremony is scheduled to be held at 7 p.m. on Friday June 15, in the auditorium of the school 14 Vogt Drive in Bridgewater.

Valedictorian from the Academy for Health and Medical Sciences program is Suma Gondi of Basking Ridge.
 
Principal Diane Ziegler will welcome graduates and their guests, according to the high school. Diplomas and awards will be presented by Superintendent Chrys Harttraft; Assistant Superintendent for Business/Board Secretary Diane Strober; Board of Education President William Hyncik, Jr.; Vice President William Dudeck; Board of Education member Theodore Smith; and Board of Education member Dr. Alan Braun.

The Career and Technical Education Valedictorian for the class of 2012 is Cisco student Jefferson McGregor of Warren, and the Career and Technical Education Salutatorian is Carpentry student Seth Twombly of Somerset.

Along with Gondi as valedictorian, John Tamanas of Hillsborough will be salutatorian of the Academy for Health and Medical Sciences.
 
Other officials who are scheduled to be in attendance include: Somerset County Freeholder Director Patricia L. Walsh; Freeholder Deputy Director Peter S. Palmer of Bernardsville; Freeholder Robert Zaborowski, Freeholder Patrick Scaglione, Freeholder Mark Caliguire, and Executive County Superintendent Dr. Kathleen C. Serafino.

Walsh will address the graduates on behalf of the Somerset County Freeholders.
 
Following the ceremony, a reception is scheduled to be held in the cafeteria.
