Bedminster School Students Wow Audiences With "Willie Wonka Jr."

About 100 students in the middle school drama club take part in production for public and the school's students.

This week, we are recognizing a lot of Whiz kids — in fact, about 100 students in the cast and crew which staged Willie Wonka Jr. at the Bedminster Public School, and wowed audiences during four performances.

  • Whiz Kids' Major Activity: The students, working with director and school music teacher Scott Lefurge, on March 31 and April 1 staged four "standing room only" peformances of Willie Wonka Jr., based on the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.
  • Whiz Kids' School/Church/Community Center: The Bedminster Public School's middle school drama club.
  • Whiz Kids' Accomplishment: The students gave four packed performances, including two assemblies at the prekindergarten through grade 8 school. Co-leads were Hannah Skokan as Willy Wonka and Julie de Diego as Charlie Bucket.   • Whiz Kids' Key to Being Noteworthy:  The students gave four back-to-back performances that reportedly "brought the house down."
