After losing twice to Pingry this season, the Ridge girls took the county championship on Saturday afternoon. The final score of 15-14 flip-flopped the team's last defeat at the hands of Pingry — exactly the same score in reverse.

was the scene of two big Red Devils lacrosse games late Saturday morning and afternoon, with both participating in Somerset County championship competitions.

, which beat Immaculata High School 10-5 on Thursday night, headed onto Lee Field at 11 a.m. for a county semi-final contest against Montgomery High School.

The boys took that game 11-5, and will be at the county championship at 7 p.m. on Thursday, to be held in Bridgewater. Patch is scheduled to have coverage of that game as well.

The Ridge girls lacrosse facedat 2 p.m. on Saturday at the turf field at Lee Field. The team has been beaten twice by the Pingry team this season in narrow losses, most recently with a 15-14 battle that went to Pingry.

Despite having the girls managed to capture their first Somerset County championship since 2004.
