The vacancy that one of the candidates is expected to fill, possibly at Monday's meeting, was created by the resignation of Board Member Susan Carlsson on May 21. Carlsson, who moved out of town, said she had expected to end her second term on the school board in April before school candidate elections Prior to the change this spring, Carlsson's term would have been extended until Dec. 31, as has McKeon's and Sherwyn's.

Also at Monday's meeting, the Teachers of the Year at each district school are expected to be honored publicly, said Denise Graff, co-president of the Bernards Township Educational Associaton.

The teachers already participated in a June 7 ceremony at that night's Somerset Patriots game in Bridgewater that included teachers of the year from other school districts as well, said Graff.
