Mental Health First Aid Training Classes
Somerset Hills YMCA Offers Mental Health First Aid Training Classes
You may know CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver, but would you know how to help a friend or loved one who is faced with a mental health crisis? At the Y, you have an opportunity to learn.
The Somerset Hills YMCA is offering an interactive 12-hour course on Mental Health First Aid. The course presents an overview of mental illness including depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, eating disorders and substance use disorders. Participants will learn risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, build an understanding of their impact, and gain knowledge of common treatments.
