Ridge Fall Sports Practices in Full Swing

All fields, practice space and the last of summer days devoted to practice for new season.

The start of the Ridge High School fall athletic schedule is just around the corner, and teams (as well as the high school band) are making the most of these last few days of summer to practice and get themselves geared up in preparation.

In the coming weeks, Patch will provide previews of the Ridge teams outlining the prospects, the captains and some of the highlighted games for 2011.

Photographer Terry Boudreau caught up early this week with some of the teams at practice (with a touch of play) on a warm (but no too hot) summer day.

The Ridge freshman football team was hard at work, while upperclass football players kicked back for a brief break to enjoy a taste of a little more summer (eating healthily, no doubt, to build up energy for the coming season).

Our Patch photographer also caught up with all levels of the girls field hockey team brushing up on their skills under the direction of varsity field hockey coach Kim Clark.

Meanwhile the freshman girls volleyball team took over part of the gym to work on the basics of their sport.
