Former Ridge Basketball Coaches Meet On Different Court

Former varsity and freshman coaches are now with other teams.

In a gym in Newark, two former Ridge High School basketball coaches met to play a basketball game Monday night. Mark Taylor, Basking Ridge resident and varsity coach at Ridge for five seasons, now coaches St. Benedict's Prep, Newark, one of the top programs in the nation.

Derek Boudreau, who had been Ridge aide and freshman and travel team coach at Ridge, now is the assistant varsity and junior varsity coach at Pope John XXIII in Sparta.

Mark Taylor's Grey Bees are 13-1 with their only loss coming from a 51-50 last minute defeat at the hands of 2011's high school national champion St. Anthony's. Taylor's opponent's have included national notables.
