Friday's Lacrosse Classic to Invoke Bryan's Dream

Annual lacrosse fundraiser set for this Friday night to remember Bryan Opremcak, who would have graduated this year.

Bryan Opremcak loved lacrosse during his short life. Upon his death caused by a pediatric brain tumor in 2006, his teammates vowed never to forget him.

They never did. 

This Friday night, the Ridge High School team members that played with Bryan will again be an essential part of the 6th Annual Lacrosse Classic at Mountain Park from 4-9 p.m. The event will be an occasion to remember Bryan, who would have graduated with the class of 2011, as well as to raise funds for .

The Bryan's Dream Foundation, started by his parents, Tim and Nancy Opremcak, assists children with brain tumors and their families. Assistance goes directly to families as well as to hospitals that assist such young patients and pediatric brain tumor research. More information is on the foundation's website.

Besides friendly games, the event will feature a barbecue, 50/50 raffle and silent auction. The park is at Martinsville Road and Mountain Road in Basking Ridge.

Anticipated participants include Ridge Youth Lacrosse and teams from Somerset Hills, The Hills, Bridgewater, Hillsborough, Chester/Mendham and more.
