Random Drug Testing Will Be Debated At Monday's Board of Education Meeting

The location was changed from the Board Office to Cedar Hill School.

The issue of random drug testing in Bernards schools will be up for consideration again at the June 21 Board of Education meeting.

The Board announced that the Safe and Drug Free Schools and Community Task Force will present recommendation at Monday's meeting to implement a voluntary random drug testing program for high school athletes and activity participants.

Variations of random drug testing programs have been proposed in the district before, most recently during the 2008-09 school year. Several community members spoke against implementing the program and it was defeated.
