IN SHORT

On what would be an abnormally warm day in any other February, the Ridge Ski Teams competed against the top high school skiers in New Jersey on the slopes of Hidden Valley in Vernon. It was a beautiful and sunny 40 degree day.

The competition began in the morning with the girls taking their first runs around 10 a.m., immediately followed by the boys. Forty girls and 60 boys from schools throughout North Jersey competed in the races. After a short break, the teams completed their second runs of the day.

One of the day's highlights was the success of Daniele Colbertaldo who's sub-40 second runs put him at the top of the leader board with times of 39.45 and 39.46.
