Ridge's Liam Derkasch shines in Devils' victory.

The Ridge High School JV football team traveled to Annandale to take on the North Hunterdon Lions Monday afternoon. The Devils matched up well with their opponent winning the game, 16-12.

The Devils scored on two running plays to Liam Derkasch. The difference in the game came down to Ridge having successful 2-point conversions.  North Hunterdon failed to score their two extra point attempts.

The win brings the Devils' season record up to 3-0, prior to facing powerhouse Phillipsburg next week.

"It's nice. They are playing hard and they are working hard," said Ridge assistant coach Eric Schroeder.

"We getting a lot of energy from last year when we were 8-0-1. We are trying to piggyback on some of that this season.  We are off to a nice start, but obviously we still have some things to work on.  They are staying plugged in, at least.  This was an interesting one, but we pulled it out." — Ridge assistant coach Paul Davis
