Susan Carlsson Elected Board of Education President

Carlsson served as Board Vice President in 2009-10.

For the first time in three years, the Board of Education has a new president.

Susan Carlsson, currently serving a three-year term from 2009-2012, was elected as the Board's new president at the Monday, April 26 meeting.

Carlsson previously served as the Board's vice president under recently reelected Bill Koch in 2009-10. Koch relinquished the role and will continue to serve on the Board of Education as a regular member.

Carlsson thanked Koch for the three years that he served as the Board's president, and also former Board of Education member Lou Carlucci, who lost his seat in the most recent school elections. Carlsson said that Carlucci was the Board president when she first started to serve nine years ago, and thanked him for his hard work and years of service to the district.

Bev Darvin Cwerner was elected as the Board's new vice president to take over for Carlsson.
