UPDATED: Testing for Ridge Juniors Means Delayed Opening for Other RHS Grades

N.J. High School Proficiency Assessments due to be administered to RHS juniors this Tues.-Thurs. Senior breakfast on Wednesday.

juniors are this Tuesday through Thursday scheduled to take the state-required New Jersey High School Proficiency Assessment tests between 7:35 a.m. until approximately 10:30 a.m. School buses will pick up juniors for the morning testing, according to the Board of Education office.

However. the scheduling of the HSPA test means that students who are freshmen, sophomores or seniors will begin school on a delayed opening schedule, according to the school office and website.

Those students will be picked up by buses about 2 1/2 hours later, and should be at school by about 10:15 a.m., according to the high school.

UPDATED: However, a senior breakfast is scheduled for Wednesday morning. Attendance is mandatory, and seniors are asked to report to the school cafeteria by 9 a.m., according to the office at Ridge High School.

The high school's regular nine-period day is scheduled to begin at about 10:40 a.m. The periods will be shortened to 21 or 22 minutes through the remainder of the normal school day, according to the website.

Lunches are scheduled to be served during the normal lunch periods.

In the event of a delayed opening or full snow day, the HSPA test scheduled for that day will be rescheduled for Friday, March 4, with the same schedule of shortened periods and a delayed opening for other grades.

Until the testing is completed on all three days, freshmen arriving at school should report to gym A, sophomores to gym B, and seniors to the cafeteria.
