The undefeated 6-0 Bernards High Mountaineers football team will face off against Belvidere High School's team tonight, Friday, in a 7 p.m. conference championship game that will be televised later this week on MSG Varsity TV.

Cablevision's MSG Varsity will showcase Friday’s game between Belvidere High School and Bernards at 4 p.m next Thursday, Nov. 3 across all regions on MSG Varsity, Cablevision’s iO TV, channel 14.

Earlier in the day, Bernardsville police chief Kevin Valentine said the game, which also is Senior Night as well as being a championship contest, is expected to draw a larger than usual crowd. Belvidere can be expected to draw a strong fan following, he said.

Bernards High dramatists are scheduled to present the "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" at 7 p.m. on Friday, and also at the same time on Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Valentine said the school had assigned extra administrators to work at the event, and extra police officers also were hired by the school district.

"We have put on extra officers who will patrol the neighborhood and parking lot to monitor traffic and parking concerns. Detectives were reassigned to work tonight and will be present also," Valentine said. Police and the school worked together to come up with extra security measures, he said.

The department posted no parking signs earlier in areas that traditionally have had problems with parking in prohibited zones, he said. The borough Department of Public Works also had cleared leaves from other parking spots, he said.
