Visiting Nurse Association Offers $1000 Scholarships to High School Students Interested in Nursing

The awards will be given to two qualified seniors in Somerset or Morris counties who plan to pursue a baccalaureate degree in nursing.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills is now accepting applications for its 2010 nursing scholarships for area high school students.

The VNA has awarded scholarships since 1991 to students interested planning to pursue a baccalaureate degree in nursing. This year, two high school seniors from either Somerset or Morris County will receive a $1,000 award.

Interested students must fill out an application on the VNA Web Site, submit two letters of reference, a personal statement about their interest in nursing and a list of extra-curricular and work experiences. To be eligible, students must be accepted into a program leading to a baccalaureate degree in nursing and must be in good academic standing with their school.
