Ridge High School Football Player Ezra Keough Speaks At Camp Nejeda

Ezra Keough spoke about his organization, Tackle Juvenile Diabetes, to Camp Nejeda last Sunday, encouraging them to stay active and have fun!

Ezra Keough spoke at Camp Nejeda yesterday,   Camp Nejeda is a residential hands on  camp for children with type 1 diabetes. Ezra brought his message of Tackle  Juvenile Diabetes, an outreach and educAtional organization that encourages kids with type 1 diabetes to join sports teams, dance teams, Band and any other group that encourages exercise and fun!  Ezra's motto: Stay Fit and Tackle It! Tackle juvenile Diabetes. Ezra was diagnosed 7years ago with type 1 diabetes (juvenile diabetes) the summer after 5 th grade. He decided to create Tackle Juvenile Diabetes when he realized so many people were unaware of what the disease was really all about and how different it was from type 2 diabetes. Type one has nothing to do with diet causing the disease, it is an autoimmune disease that attacks the pancreas and causes it eventually to stop working, It is however manageable and you can succeed in having a very healthy life by keeping up with it and exercising and eating right. Being a defensive guard and long snapper for Ridge High School, Ezra has to keep his body in top condition. The Ridge High School team is now in double sessions working out 6 days a week. Ezra also works out at Test Performance with Eric Dorsey former NY Giants super bowl champion. Dorsey has taught Ezra a lot about nutrition and exercise and maintaining a balanced healthy lifestyle. Eric's coaching has been invaluable to Ezra's training. An audience of Over 80 children and parents listened attentively to Ezra and his experience as an high school athlete with Type 1 diabetes yesterday during a warm afternoon in August. In addition to games, prizes and activities, Ezra brought his message encouraging both parents and their children to follow their dreams, to challenge themselves and their bodies to be the best they can be, allowing NO obstacle to stand in their way, like he has done...Stay Fit and Tackle It! Tackle Juvenile Diabetes!
