Bernards Township Recreation Facilities Closing Due to Sandy

Recreation facilities to be closed, and programs canceled Monday and Tuesday. Golf course to shut through Wednesday.

Due to predictions for Hurricane Sandy, all Bernards Township parks, athletic fields and facilities, including the Bernards Community Center, will be closed this Monday and Tuesday.

All Parks and Recreation Department programs scheduled for Monday and Tuesday also are canceled, according to a Sunday afternoon announcement. This includes 40+ fitness, senior art class, yoga, women’s tennis, floor hockey, teen open gym and 30+ open gym basketball.  Information on make-up dates will be emailed to all participants later this week.

Golf course closed through Wednesday

The Coakley-Russo Memorial Golf Course will be closed Monday through Wednesday.

An update on facility closures and program cancellations for Wednesday will be posted on Tuesday afternoon.

Township facility closings and program cancellation information is found online on the homepage under "upcoming events" on the Parks & Recreation Homepage, or on the township website's community calendar.

Earlier on Sunday, including Lord Stirling Stable and all golf courses, will be closed both Monday and Tuesday.
