Big Ice Hockey Game Dedicated to Wounded Vets

Ridge ice hockey game on Saturday to donate proceeds to Wounded Warrior Project.

The Ridge Ice Hockey Team will dedicate this Saturday's gate proceeds, usually used to pay for ice time, to an organization that assists wounded veterans around the nation.

The team, to play Morristown High School at 8:30 p.m. this Saturday at the Bridgewater Sports Arena, has announced Ridge hockey will team up with the Morristown Booster Club to raise money for the the Wounded Warrior Project.

Bob Fenton, the father of a player and an Iraq war vet, will drop the puck to start the game, said Ed Knapp, president of the Ridge Ice Hockey Association.

Ridge senior captains had asked the organization to donate the proceeds from the gate to WWP, and the RIHA agreed to do so. Player Keith Knapp registered the event with the Wounded Warrior Project, his father said.
