Golf Season Set to Open Monday at Somerset County Courses

Pro shops will open for 2011 registration.

The Somerset County Park Commission officially opens the 2011 golf season on Monday at 8 a.m. Courses will open providing weather and ground conditions permit.  

Pro shops at Green Knoll on Garretson Road in Bridgewater and Spooky Brook at Colonial Park in Franklin Township will be open for registration and retail sales.

Neshanic Valley on South Branch Road in Neshanic and Quail Brook on New Brunswick Road in Franklin Township have remained open through the winter.

The Learning Center and Academy Course at Neshanic Valley will also open for practice and play on Monday, Feb. 28 as weather permits.

Warrenbrook on Warrenville Road in Warren will open in mid-March.

Hours of operation will be 8 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on weekends.

County resident ID cards and tee time reservation applications are available at each course.

Greens fees for Somerset County residents at Green Knoll, Spooky Brook, Warrenbrook, and Quail Brook range from $16 for seniors and juniors to $24 Mondays to Thursdays and $22 for seniors and juniors to $28 for adults Friday to Sunday and holidays.

Non-resident fees are $41 for adults and $31 for seniors and juniors from Monday to Thursday and $46 for adults, seniors, and juniors from Friday to Sunday. Twilight rates will also be in effect. Handcarts and gas carts are available for rental at all courses.

Neshanic Valley rates are $50 Monday to Thursday and $60 Friday to Sunday and holidays. Senior and junior rates are $40 Monday to Thursday and $60 Friday to Sunday. These rates include a gas cart.
