Ridge Football Season Kicks Off With First Practice

Those Ridge Red Devils in green are back on the football field.

This year's varsity football team was out early on Monday for the season's first practice, getting in shape for opening game against Montgomery.

That game, to be played at home at Lee Field at 7 p.m. on Sept. 12, will be played on a Thursday night, said school athletic director Rich Shello.

"We are back at it, and had a great day today," Red Devils Football Head Coach Bill Tracy reported on Monday night.

He added the team is a great group this year — "They are a pleasure to be around."

Captains for 2013 are: 

Conor Hughes — QB/defensive halfback/punter/kicker

Nick Franzese — Halfback/defensive halfback/return man

A.J. Peterpaul — Center/offensive and defensive guard

Ryan Bell — End/defensive end
