Team Record: 2-1
Goals: Massimo Oliveira scored the first two goals of the game and the third goal on a penalty kick, achieving a hat trick. Andrew Taddeo scored the fourth goal of the game in the third quarter.
Game Highlights: Strong defense by Sage Overbay and Noah Youssef stopped the Thunder from advancing the ball. Both Max Kaul and Aidan McCabe fought hard midfield to return the ball to the Hurricanes who pressured the Thunder with help from JJ Zaun's drives down the field and goal attempts by Chris Profaca, Andrew Taddeo and Massimo Oliveira. The Hurricanes won a hard fought game with a final score of 4-2.

Score: 3-0, North Brunswick Wildcats
Record: 0-6
Game Highlights: Although the North Brunswick Wildcats won, the U10 Leopards held their own. Goalies Sophia Berger and Jenna McHale made some amazing saves in goal. The defense of Lauren Lusardi, Emma Mertz, Sara Tobacco and Amanda Leitz stopped a few fast breaks and cleared the ball so the offense could try to work some magic. Sarah Quinn, Sonia Parmar, Giona Egan Anastasia Condolon and Reilly Cambria used fast feet to try to score some goals. All in all this was a wonderful team effort for the Leopards.

Highlights: The Cobras put on a strong offense with Brian Merola, Declan Meagher, and Luke Schraer all taking multiple shots on goal. Chris Metcalfe really shined with an all around strong game. Solid defense and super goalkeeping by Declan Meagher and Jason Clingensmith kept this game close until the very end.

Goals/Game Highlights: The Ridge Mavericks’ U11 Panthers tied the Princeton Roma 0-0 in a hard fought match on October 9. Maddie Athanasiou and Morgan McCauley challenged the Princeton goalie a few times but could not find the back of the net. Priya Gupta and Alexis Buzby combined in goal to shut down all scoring tries by the Roma.

Game Highlights: The U12 Ridge Mavericks Cobras visited the Middlesex Thunder in Middlesex, NJ. The Cobras kept the Thunder at bay with a scoreless first half. Within minutes of the second half start, Luke Schraer (#8) made a goal for the Cobras. Soon after, David Eweka (#1) helped boot the ball back onto the center pitch just before it entered the Cobras goal. With seconds remaining, Lex D'Andrea (#5) narrowly missed a tying goal attempt, leaving the final score at 2-1 Thunder.

The U-10 Ridge Mavericks Lightning took advantage of beautiful summer-like day to find their winning ways again. Ana-Sophia Kyros started the Lightning off with a quick goal in the first quarter, which was quickly followed by a beautiful shot by Ava Marsters which ricocheted off the far goal post for the Lightning's second score. Ava put the Lightning up 3-0 a few minutes later. Edison was able to get one past the Lightning goalie, but Cammie Wylie took the kick-off downfield scoring the fourth goal. Excellent defensive play by Emma Kunz, Jamie Marsters and Lauren Carey kept Edison from scoring again. Caroline Zanardi added another goal late in the fourth quarter to give the Lightning a 5-1 victory.

Game Notes: The Fireworks quickly scored two goals in the first quarter. The Rockets came back strong in the second quarter as Gabby Allen scored a breakaway unassisted goal. Amanda Veltri strongly defended the net for the first half of the game. Ashley Narsu covered goal for the scoreless second half. Courtney McCaffrey played aggressive defense, flanked by teammate Regan Cunningham. Amanda Veltri and Stella Smith came close to scoring late in the fourth quarter.

Game Summary: The Tigers faced a determined and quick opponent in the Hunterdon Blizzards. The Blizzards struck early, with two goals in the first half. In the second half, Sage Ecko took over as goalkeeper and made a number of impressive saves to keep the Tigers in the game. Annie Cannan showed great hustle on defense and got back in time to thwart a number of Blizzards’ breakaways. Late in the game, Emily Ward broke free to score and get the Tigers on the Board.

Game Notes: The Thunder fell to the Cranford Rapids 0-1. Most of the game was played at the mid-field and both teams were evenly matched. The Thunder played a good passing game and controlled the ball well but couldn’t hold Cranford from scoring on a breakaway in the 4th quarter to win the game.
