More Nature and Dog Walks to be Held at Lord Stirling & EEC

Additional nature walks scheduled at the Environmental Center; Saturday dog walks continue at Lord Stirling Stable grounds.

Additional Nature Walks have been scheduled at the Somerset County 

Walks also have been scheduled for Sundays on March 11 and 25; April 22; and May 27, on the property by the EEC at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge.

The hour-long naturalist-led interpretive walks focus on a different theme during these weeks. Call 908-766-2489 for schedule updates. The walk is free of charge and preregistration is not required.

The walk is not designed for organized groups. The Environmental Education Center is open seven days each week.

Meanwhile, around the corner, the ever-popular Saturday Dog Walks at Somerset County Park Commission's will continue weekly at the trails at 256 S. Maple Ave. The Friends of Lord Stirling Stable host the event.

Check-in time for owners and their pets will begin at 10:15 a.m. every Saturday. The guided trail walks begin at 10:30 a.m. and last for approximately one hour.

Registration is $3 per dog and all pets must be leashed and kept under control at all times. The sanctioned Dog Walks offer participants the only opportunity to explore the miles of the equestrian trails of Lord Stirling Stable on foot.
