The Bernards High Mountaineers football team traveled to New Providence High School on Friday night, and came away with two victories, the first being a 14-7 victory in the game.
That win also made the team the Union Division Champions of the Mid-state 38 Conference, said Head Coach Jon Simoneau. Bernards now is 4-1 for the season.
The Mounties put the first number up on the scoreboard when Jordan Tantleff scored in the second quarter on a 48-yard pass from Tyler Baum.

Robert Schaufler scored on a six-yard run the third quarter. Ryan DeLeon added the extra-point kick to both TDs.
The shutout ended, however, when New Providence scored in the final quarter of the game.

The Mountaineers next travel to Roselle Park for a game at 7 p.m. this Friday.
