Red Devils Play at Patriot's Stadium Tonight

The Red Devils host Delaware Valley Regional at TD Bank Ballpark tonight at 7 p.m.

Dubbed "the biggest night in Ridge baseball" long before the game took on added playoff significance, the Red Devils will take on Delaware Valley Regional at TD Bank Ballpark, the home of the Somerset Patriots, tonight in Bridgewater.

Tickets to the game are $10 and will be sold outside the high school cafeteria today. The money goes toward supporting the baseball program at Ridge.

Tonight's match-up is a must win for the Red Devils if they want to get an automatic bid to the state playoffs. The team is currently 9-11 and must get to .500 by the end of the week, playing tonight and again at Phillipsburg on Friday.

Ridge head coach Tom Blackwell said of the team's opponents, "They are struggling a little bit, but we found out that it doesn't matter what a team's record is, if we play well we usually have success, if we don't play well then we don't. It comes down to us."

Despite a string of hard-luck games, the Red Devil's offense has been clicking at the tail end of the season, scoring 40 runs in four games last week, and beating Gill St. Bernard's yesterday 11-1. With speed at the top of the lineup and power hitting to follow, this year's team is fun to watch.
