UPDATE:Ridge 13U Baseball Wins Semi-Final in State Babe Ruth Tournament

Ridge baseball to play Wednesday night for Northern New Jersey championship night in Babe Ruth Tournament.

Ridge 13U baseball beat Millburn 3 to 1 on Tuesday night in the Northern New Jersey semi-final game and will advance to the Championship game in the Babe Ruth Tournament for North Jersey on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at South Orange’s Cameron Field, according to the team.

The 13U team had reached Tuesday night's game in the state Babe Ruth Tournament on Tuesday after winning the first rounds of the tournament last weekend.

Ridge 13U played the first state playoff game against Long Valley last Friday, winning with a final score of 10 to 5, according to the team.

On Saturday, the team defeated South Orange and Maplewood 12 to 4. On Sunday, in the final playoff game, the boys beat South Plainfield, 6 to 5, retaining their undefeated status and securing their spot in the state semi-finals.

Ridge’s 13U team previously had swept the District 10 playoffs to gain a spot in the Babe Ruth Tournament.

The 13U championship team includes Coach Dan Spina, Manager and Coach John Heffernan, Louie Lafakis, Devin Stieglitz, Patrick Heffernan, Patrick Zadroga, John Steitz, James Crowley, Sean Spina, Joe Covello, Ryan Gogerty, Andrew Lusardi, Manager and Coach Doug Crowley, Brandon Radice, and Anthony Roti. Nick Carola, Anthony Lake and Andrew Micale also were part of the team.
