Backing them up in the cage was senior goalie T.J. Jones who held off the high scoring Rutgers Prep offense with 10 saves.

"We all played good today," said Ridge goalie T.J. Jones, who is headed to St Joseph's University in the fall to play lacrosse. "We all stuck to the plan. We had a good start and when they started to come back, we fought through it. We kept putting the ball in the goal and everyone helped out on defense."

"It was a good game," said Ridge coach Ken Marsh. "They are a very good team, but we had a good scout and a good plan for them. They are very good offensively and our defense did what they needed to do. Our offense did what we needed them to do. It was an excellent win."

"We came out, offense, defense played really well," said Eric Scott. "We played four quarters of lacrosse and we played as a team. That is what you need to do to win, that is what you need to win a championship. We are going to try to do the exact same thing next week."

Ridge will face No. 9 ranked Somerville for the Somerset County Championship Thursday night at Ridge. The Devils handed Somerville their only loss the first game of the 2013 season 10-2.

"It was a long time ago," said Marsh. "They are definitely a different team right now. They are going to be a team that's ready to go. They just beat Bridgewater (for the SCT semi-final) by the same score we beat Bridgewater.  It is obviously going to be a close game. We will be prepared for them."
