Ridge Girls Soccer Opens State Playoffs with Shutout Win over Piscataway
Game time changed to 2 p.m. for team, already Somerset County tournament winners.
The Ridge girls soccer team, already Somerset County Champions, opened the NJSIAA Group IV playoffs with a 7-0 shutout over Piscataway on Monday afternoon at Lee Field at home in Basking Ridge.
Ridge's goals came from six different players: Gigi Cifelli, Amanda Cox, Jennifer Haskel (2 goals), Kelly McWhorter, Kristina Mueller and Alex Weyrauch.
Ridge (14-3-3) next will take on Elizabeth at 2 p.m. on Thursday at home on Lee Field at Ridge High School, for the quarterfinal game of the Group IV, North 2, playoffs.
