Ridge Hockey Loses First Game of Season to Morristown

Ridge trails by one goal in heated game against highly rated Morristown.

Ridge High School's Red Devils hockey battled to within one goal of Morristown High School, rated number nine in the state, but ultimately ended up with the team's first loss of the season on Tuesday evening.

Ridge's season record now stands at 12-1-1, following a 4-3 game that went to Morristown at Bridgewater Sports Arena.

Ridge's goals were scored by Kyle Leddy, Matt Zarabara and Ben Raff.
 
The Ridge team next plays Bridgewater-Raritan at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday at Bridgewater Sports Arena. That game is scheduled to be filmed by MSG Varsity television and set to air at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, on MSG Varsity, Optimum TV Channel 14.

According to information from the Ridge hockey team, Morristown's first goal went off a skate. Kyle Leddy's goal then brought it up to a 1-1 tie.

Morristown also scored a second goal, but a goal from Matt Zarabara regained a tie for Ridge.

However, a third goal for Morristown slipped by the Ridge goalie, and Morristown also scored an empty net goal to take a 4-2 lead. However, the Ridge team fired back with a third goal, and that was how the scoring ended.
