Ridge Football Will Head to Rutgers Stadium for State Championship Game

Team reaches the end of the season with perfect record, and shot at state championship.

Ridge football fans who've followed their team through an unbeaten 11-0 season can head to Rutgers University's stadium on Dec. 8 for the grand finale — the state final championship game against No. 2 Union for the Group 5, North 2 season championship.

This year's team has reached the state final after Friday night's semifinal victory over opponents Linden at home, which Ridge won 28-14 in front of an overflow crowd of local fans.

The game is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Sunday morning, Dec. 8, at Rutgers Stadium, 1 Scarlet Knight Way, Piscataway, according to the Ridge Red Devils football website.

In the first round of the state playoffs, the Ridge team recorded a 35-28 victory over Westfield at Lee Field.
