Ridge Ski Team Invites Public to Film Showing

Mountain Creek to host event and give away prizes, organizers say. Tickets on sale in Ridge lunchroom.

The Ridge High School Ski Racing Team will host a showing of the 2013 Warren Miller ski film, "Flow State" at 7 p.m. this Friday at the high school's Performing Arts Center (PAC).

This will be the first showing in New Jersey of the winter season’s new film, Flow State, which was filmed in Alaska, Switzerland, Japan, Utah, Colorado and California.

It features well known ski racer Ted Ligety, among others. The film is rated G and is 101 minutes long. For a preview of this film, visit www.skinet.com/warrenmiller/.

Warren Miller Entertainment is the most respected name in action sports cinematography, capturing the best of winter sports since 1949.

Mountain Creek Ski Resort ski area in Vernon has graciously offered to sponsor the event, said organizers of the movie showing. Representatives from Mountain Creek will be at the movie showing with giveaway prizes. Please check the Mountain Creek website for the advertising of the film.

Ski team holding bake sale and selling t-shirts; tickets now on sale by Ridge cafeteria

In addition to the film, the ski racing team will host a bake sale during intermission and sell the popular “Got Snow” t-shirts. During intermission, there will be a raffle for some ski-related prizes.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door, cash or check only. To purchase advance tickets online, go to http://ridgeskiteammovie.eventbrite.com.   

Tickets also are on sale during lunch periods in the main hallway by cafeteria at Ridge High School this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
