Ruderman Crowned Somerset County Tennis Champ

Ridge failed to repeat as Somerset County Champions as a team, but first singles star Alex Ruderman took home individual honors as the top tennis player in the county on Sunday.

Ruderman defeated defending county champion Steven Wu of Hillsborough, 6-2, 6-2, to earn the honor. NJ.com has photos and an article on the meet. Carolyn Freundlich writes, "Ruderman earned the victory with a hard, flat serve. Wu would lob a return that Ruderman subsequently would put away, either at net or by placing deep in a corner with heavy topspin."

The tennis player was also featured in an article earlier this season after his first defeat of Wu – the two tennis players split their regular season matches before Ruderman won the county tournament.
