Student Video Catches Rhythm of Winning Homecoming Game

Ridge Senior Mark DePasquale, with some filming by senior Kieran McCarthy, creates video/short film of Homecoming victory.

Ridge High School senior Mark DePasquale has produced his own short film of last Friday's winning Homecoming game against North Hunterdon High School. He submitted the YouTube video to Patch in a blog.

DePasquale said some of the filming was done by senior Kieran McCarthy.

DePasquale said he attended last Friday's game with his camera because, "I hadn't filmed any high school football game in over three years. Since it was the homecoming game I figured that game would be appropriate to make a video for," he said. He said he also wanted to make at least one football video this years, since he has multiple friends playing on this year's varsity team, now 5-0 into the season.

He said that McCarthy was willing to come out on the field and try some shooting even though he seldom does film work. "This was the only project he's ever had a hand in making with me," said DePasquale, who has been involved in other films shown on MSG Varsity and at a Garden State film festival last summer.

As of now, he said he has not have a specific place where he wants to submit the video. "I didn't have any really significant reason for making it other than I wanted to broaden my audience by making my version of football video."

He said he has made only short films, as well as feature film trailers on his YouTube channel. He said he wanted more people to watch his videos, so "I made a sports video that I felt I would want to watch over and over again."

He said he chose music that some feel has become the "senior class anthem," and the video is set to "Seven Nation Army" by The Glitch Mob Remix, a remixed version of the son by the White Stripes.
