Ridge heads out for another game after a 44-36 victory over Montgomery on Tuesday night.
It was an evening when easy baskets were at a premium, but Ridge used a patient offense and aggressive defense to defeat its conference rival. Both teams had entered the court on the Cougars home turf sporting perfect 5-0 conference records.
Scoring by quarter was:
Ridge: 13, 6, 11, 14 — 44 points
Montgomery: 4, 6, 5, 21 — 36 points
Ridge started with a quick lead, ending the quarter and the half with a nine point lead that ballooned to 15 at the end of the third quarter.
Montgomery climbed back up in the points in the fourth quarter, but clutch foul shooting down the stretch sealed the deal for the Red Devils who ended the game with a 24-15 advantage on the glass.
Hugh Morris, Matt Gerrity, and Eric Klacik led the Devils in scoring with 13, 8, and 7 respectively. More information is on the Ridge Hoops website.
Ridge girls basketball also won a home game over Montgomery on Tuesday night.
