Wolverines Pee Wees Advance to Garden State Semis

Top Orange Bengals in second-round action.

The Watchung Hills Wolverines Junior Pee Wee team advanced to the second round of the Garden State Games with an impressive win over the Orange Bengals, 24-6.

Matty Colantuono scored twice on two quarterback keeps.  Colantuono also connected with Pat Stefurack on a 40-yard touchdown pass.

Andrew Reale rambled down the sideline for a 40 yard touchdown run. Connor Cook carried six times for 60 yards and Jack Taub added 50 yards on the ground as well.

Andrew Reale finished the day with 60 yards rushing and converted a huge first down early in the game.

The offensive line kept the Bengals defense at bay led by Anthony Tomaro at center, Justin Uberoi, Charlie Everhardt, Adam Claxton, George Rooks, Isiah Parker and Pat Stefurack.

The defense was stingy all game only allowing the Orange Bengals 40 yards on the ground.  Jack Taub, Connor Cook, Andrew Reale and Matty Colantuono led the defensive attack.

The secondary shut down Orange’s passing attack with a huge interception by Joey Denave with 2:10 left before the half.

The Junior Pee Wees head to Roselle on Wednesday night to play Newark in the semi-finals. The winner advances to the Garden State finals which will be held at Rutgers Stadium this Sunday.
