Fab Summer in the Parks Series Starting Again in July

Plays, concerts and movies will let residents take out their lawn chairs and enjoy entertainment in their own backyard.

It's July, and that means theagain is presenting its summer series of free events in the township's own parks to run on multiple evenings into early August.

Residents will be able to enjoy plays, concerts and movies, starting next Tuesday, July 10.

The Jayne Hannigan Summer Concert Series at , to be held at 7 p.m. on four consecutive Tuesdays through July, kicks off on July 10 with They Jersey Four, a journey from the very beginning of The Four Seasons number one hits, Frankie Valli`s solo career, to present day Four Seasons shows.

The perennial favorite Jimmy & the Parrots are due to return for a lively show on July 17, as one of the most requested Jimmy Buffett cover bands in the country, performing all the great Buffett songs, new and classic rock ‘n roll, and outstanding original songs, all with an island flair.

On July 24, Living Proof USA, an eight piece horn driven cover band, is due to perform an amazing tribute to the sounds of the Jersey Shore.

Another repeat performance is due on July 31, when hits the stage at PVP. The national touring Beatles Stage Show, featuring three costume changes, traces the Beatles' career from their debut, to Sgt. Pepper, to their final years of Abbey Road and Let it Be.

This year, in case of rain, the concerts will be held indoors at the Performing Arts Center.

The 2012 Outdoor Movie Nights series is due to run at 8:45 p.m. at Harry Dunham Park at Somerville and Liberty Corner Roads. Rain will lead to the rescheduling of showings the next night.

Happy Feet Two (PG) is scheduled for Wednesday, July 11, preceeded by Family Fun Night at the same location at 6:30 p.m.; Puss in Boots (PG), July 18; and the July 25 showing, sponsored by the Municipal Alliance of Bernards Township, of The God of Thunder Thor, rated PG-13.

Plays in the Park

The Trilogy Repertory Co. and Bernards Township Recreation department will jointly offer "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, at 8 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday, July 12 through 14; and nightly on July 19 to 21.

All plays will be offered at the amphitheater at Peasant Valley Park. Donations are accepted.

The drama "Inherit the Wind" is scheduled to be staged at 8 p.m. on July 28-29 and August 2,3 and 4.
