It’s time to start cleaning your closets and gathering goods to donate to the spring rummage sale. Donations will be accepted at the Far Hills Fairground starting this Saturday, April 7.
Donations will be accepted on a daily basis except for Sunday until Wednesday, April 25. During those days, residents can drop off items from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the fairgrounds at the corner Route 202 and Peapack Road in Far Hills.
Volunteers will be at the location to help unload donations from vehicles.
Spring rummage sale scheduled for May 4 to 6
As always, the rummage sale takes place Friday, May 4, and Saturday, May 5, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. ,and Sunday, May 6, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The VNA sale, dating back to the beginning of the 20th century, is recognized as the area’s oldest and largest event of this type, and a treasure and bargain hunter’s paradise, according to the VNA. Sales are held twice a year, in May and October.
With more than 25 departments of merchandise, shoppers can sift through tens of thousands of items to search for anything from antiques, jewelry and clothes to kitchenware, toys and sporting equipment. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the volunteer-run sale are earmarked to support the VNA’s programs and enable the organization to care for those who are uninsured or under-insured in Morris and Somerset Counties.
